Hi guys,
We went to the Trinoma mall recently to watch a movie entitled "Praybeyt Benjamin". Unfortunately, the tickets were sold out. So, we had to watch another movie, which is "tower heist" by Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy and few other people.
In the ticket, there are 2 discount coupons attached there. One is from Timezone, but I forgot what is included there. The second was from Gelatissimo, we decided to check it out.
There are so much flavors to choose from. Honestly, it took me about 10 minutes or so to pick my flavor. Thankfully, to help you decide what flavor is best for you, free taste is allowed. Only not sure of how many times this is allowed.
I picked out Strawberry and hazelnut Chocolate. I was so thrilled when I got my Gelato. Although, quite disappointing when I knew that the strawberry was a sorbet. But it's okay because it tastes so good. The hazelnut chocolate kinda tastes like Ferrero Rocher or Veronese Chocolate.
Other flavors that I've tasted were Green tea, Vanilla, melon, mango-passion fruit and few other flavors that I can't remember. The green tea flavor tastes like starbucks, only richer.
For those of you who like to take it home, you can put it in these styro take home containers. The server said that it is insulated so it can last up to 2 hours without melting.
P.S. Not sure about the price, very sorry about that. But it's about a hundred pesos I think for a scoop. Not bad for a good quality non fat ice cream, eyt!!!
=peace out!!!

BonChon trend
Hello Guys!!!
I decided to make a post tonight because I have time. And, it's been a week I think since my last post here in Yumyum buddy. So, here we go!!
My friends and I went to Katipunan Avenue, near Ateneo De Manila University (nearest BonChon branch from our current location) to feast on their mouthwatering food.
Here is their price list. They've added the thigh part on their menu.
We decided to buy the chops because we don't want the bones and stuff. My friend added that she wants to eat more chicken, and she wants less mess, so chops is the choice of our group. The service was fast and the servers were so kind to us while we are waiting for our order.
Them when our food arrived at our table, I can see the looks on the faces of my friends that they are really hungry.
I took a bite on a piece of their chops, and the first thing that pops into my mind is that the chicken is crispy on the outside, mainly because of the batter, and soft, chewy and tender on the inside. The second thing is the flavor, there is a sweet, tangy, garlicky flavor inside my mouth. The chicken is well marinated and the sauce outside was so aahhh!!!! Amazing!!!
The site said that their chicken is healthier than the others. Their chicken is double fried. The 1st frying is for removing the fats and the excess oils. The 2nd, is for making the chicken skin crispy. But I'm not buying their explanations, I still think that it is not healthy is double fry the chicken.
I've tasted BonChon chicken before and based on my taste buds, you can get more flavor on the leg and wing part but more chicken on the chops. So, if you're after the taste and the flavor, I recommend the leg and the wing. but if your're after the quantity, go for the chops.
P.S. I haven't tried the thigh part yet. Our visit to BonChon was last 2 weeks ago, I got lazy doing the blog, so I'm very very sorry!!!!
Please, stay tuned for more blogs. This is your Yumyum Buddy saying Peace out!!!!

Krispy Kreme VS Go Nuts Donuts
Hi Everyone,
My sister bought a dozen of Krispy Kreme doughnuts from Trinoma. Krispy Kreme opens its stores in the philippines on November 2006 in Bonifacio High Street, Fort Bonifacio Taguig.
Go Nuts Donuts is a Philippine based doughnut chain. The Trillana-De Ocampo clan engaged in a doughnut business and attempted to have a franchise of Krispy kreme. however, they were denied. Instead, Krispy Kreme gave the franchise to Max's (the fried chicken restaurant). So they've decided to put up on their own.
Krispy Kreme VS Go Nuts Donuts
Since Krispy Kreme is popular nowadays, Go Nuts Donuts was not so popular today. I still remember Go nuts before had lots of customers. They even had a long line before you can take a bite of their delicious doughnuts. Now, I can feel the desperation of Go Nuts to selling their products. I mean, who can forget their "Buy 6 Take 6" promo.
Top to Bottom: Amazing Glaze, Original Glaze
Original glaze doughnut is the first doughnut ever created by Krispy Kreme. The bread is moist, chewy and has this unique taste that you can only experience when eating their doughnuts. The glaze is sweet and creamy. I feel a hint of vanilla in their glaze. The combination of the bread and the glaze is balanced. Balanced in terms of the taste of the doughnut. The glaze is too sweet without the doughnut and the doughnut is too bland without the glaze.
Amazing glaze was the first I ever tasted between the two. The bread or the doughnut is more salty than the first doughnut. The first doughnut is more chewy and moist than the amazing glaze doughnut. But the glaze is sweeter than the first doughnut. But, the overall taste is good. It also has its unique taste. I wouldn't say that Go Nuts copied the recipe from Krispy kreme because Go Nuts has its own unqiue flavor and texture that they can call their own.
The original glaze is cooked golden brown; the amazing glaze doughnut is lighter than the original glazed doughnut. If I have to choose between the two, I would choose Krispy Kreme over Go Nuts Donuts because in my opinion, KK's original glaze has the better taste of the doughnut and the glaze. But the amazing glaze wasn't that bad, I will choose it if I'm on a budget. I mean, who will argue with their buy 6 take 6 promo.
Both doughnut stores has its pros and cons, I only know that it is best partnered with a cup of coffee.
= Peace Out!!!

Oh how happy I was when Krispy kreme was opened in the Philippines because before we had Krispy Kreme because before Krsipy kreme was enjoyed in our country, Go Nuts Donuts are the one who kept are taste buds wanting for more.

But I like their idea of go nuts pizza, and their free donut if you buy a cup of coffee.
This Doughnut is one of my favorite in go Nuts Donuts, for me, it can't be beaten by Krispy Kreme. Their Dulce De Leche doughnut, has a caramel filling inside and dipped in scrumptious glaze. Ahh!! Thinking about it makes my mouth water.
Original Glaze of KK VS Amazing Glaze of GND
This is a tough one, because the taste of both doughnuts were almost the same.

Left to right: Salmon Steak, Salmon Salad, Shanghai Rolls
Salmon Salad was new to us because we got our inspiration from Teriyaki Boy. We ordered their salmon salad and thought that we can make on our own because of its simple ingredients. It is composed of:
1. Iceberg Lettuce
2. Cucumber
3. Carrots
4. Salad Dressing (Mayonnaise, sesame oil, sesame seeds, salt, pepper, sugar, )
5. Chips for garnish
6. Salmon
This Salmon steak is seared until it is cooked. No oil is added during the cooking process because the salmon itself already has its natural oil, so no additional vegetable oil is needed. Take note that fish oil is good for the health because it lowers cholesterol level.
We bought this Salmon in a public market in manila. It is in Dapitan corner Kanlaon Street. We got it at 600 pesos per kilo. We bought it right away because we cannot find one in our public market.
These Shanghai rolls are given to us by our Aunt.
Shanghai rolls are pork meat wrapped in thin flour wrapper. I don't know the proper name of it. But it kinda resemble a crepe. It is best partnered with rice and ketchup. If you don't like ketchup, you can use sweet chili sauce
OK guys, that's our dinner last night. Yum Yum!!!!

Le Pain Est Délicieux
Hi Guys!
If you know how to speak french or you've translated it on Google, then you're right! This blog is about french bread. My family and I stumbled across The French baker at the Cash & Carry supermarket in Manila. So we thought we should buy a few bread for breakfast.
We bought 4 danish bread. 2 of those are blueberry flavored. 2 are peach flavored. Danish bread is a pastry that is shaped like a pinwheel. It has like a custard in the middle topped with fruits as part of its garnish.
We also bought 2 ham and cheese croissant. A croissant is a bread that is known for its buttery flavor, being flaky and for its crescent shape.
We also picked 2 blueberry muffins. Now a lot of people are confused with muffins and cupcakes and their difference. Well, muffins are usually served as breakfast and cupcakes are usually for desserts. Cupcakes has their frosting on top while the muffin has none.
Last but not the least, we also bought Ciabatta bread. Ciabatta bread is an Italian white bread made with flour and yeast, the bread is somewhat elongated and flattish in appearance. It is crispy on the outside but soft and chewy in the inside, Known for its distinct flavor.
I took a Peach danish bread as part of my night snack before going to bed. For me, it is best partnered with a cup of coffee and a good chat with friends and families.
Visit again my blog for more posts about food. I also wanted to compare Le Coeur De France, Cafe France (formerly Delifrance), and The French Baker to see whose bakery reigns supreme and just to get over with my cravings for french pastries. I will do this comparison in the future, you just wait for it. hehehe!!!!

Becky's Kitchen
Hello Everyone!
My family and I decided to fetch my younger sister from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde awhile ago. Then, my mother just remembered that there is a cake shop nearby. Although she doesn't know where it is because she just heard it from her friends at work. So my uncle told us the place...
I was wondering why we stopped at the middle of the road next to an old house. Then, I was shocked when I realize that the old house was actually the store we were looking for. I was quite impressed when I saw 2 security guards guarding the area. When we entered the place, there's this feeling of happiness because of what I saw. I saw a whole array of cakes in glass refrigerators, pastries in shelves and customers picking out their favorite. But for us, since we are first time buyers, we don't know what we're gonna buy.
We decided to buy a caramel cake because we love caramel cake and it is not that expensive. The good thing in Becky's kitchen is that you can buy their cakes in whole, half, or even by piece!
Caramel Cake (2 slices remaining)
Their caramel cake is a work of pure genius. When I took my first bite, there was an explosion of flavors inside my mouth. The sponge cake was so soft and moist. The icing was just aahhh!!!... delicious. When I think of it, it kinda taste like Goldilocks mamon (sponge cake) but this is way better. The caramel was so tasty and so thick. And then the white icing on top gives the cake a little surprise when you eat it. We don't know how it works but we felt so surprised when it touched our taste buds. A slice of their heavenly cake was enough for me, which I was also surprised because I'm not usually contented on 1 slice.
Our visit to Becky's kitchen was worth it. This visit is definitely NOT over. I will be back again for more delicious cakes to fill my craving stomach.
Becky's kitchen is located in Pablo Ocampo St. Corner Bautista St. Singalong, Manila (near De La Salle University). There's a branch in Pasig but I forgot where it is.
