Yesterday was October 31 and our family went to 3 locations as part of our trip. The first location was in Tagaytay. There, we dined on one of the authentic Bulalo restaurants.
Tagaytay early in the morning.
My Older sister and I had their Tapsilog and my younger sister had their Longsilog. Then, the whole family shared on 1 big pot of scrumptious Bulalo. Because of the cold weather, we had to consume it fast or the soup will become cold. Therefore, I didn't have the time to take a picture of it. Besides, I already forgot to take some pictures when I started eating. Hehehe!!!! This Bulalo thing wasn't our first time, we've actually done it last year and coincidentally on the same date. Also, I was happy because it is the anniversary of my iPhone.
Okay, enough fooling around. Time for the main entry of this post.
The 2nd location of our trip was in Nasugbu, Batangas. Here, we visited our relatives. One of the highlights of this visit is getting SUMAN!!!
For those of you who don't know what suman is, a suman is a popular kakanin or rice cake/pastry in the Philippines. It is wrapped in banana leaves. It is usually partnered with granulated sugar or you can just eat it on its own.
My uncle taught me how to make a suman (their own way). First is you have to cook the rice. They use Malagkit or sticky rice for the suman. And they use coconut milk insteaad of water when cooking the rice.
Here it is after the rice is cooked.
They place it individually in banana leaves
They do it over and over again until they finish the whole bucket of rice. Wow! That was a tiring job.
They place the Suman in a big pot for steaming
Then covered it with banana leaves (Don't know why)
What is steaming without water
They add more coconut milk after the steaming is done. This is to ensure that the Suman will be really tasty.
Voila! The finish product. They said to me that they used over 40 coconuts in the cooking process. 40 coconuts!!! can you believe that?!?
The 3rd and final location we went through is the manila memorial park. We visited our grandparents, we also visited Ninoy and Cory Aquino's grave.
We also had our dinner there. But I couldn't post some pictures because it was already dark and you guys wouldn't see it clearly. So it's waste of time.
So, that's it. I will see you guys next time when I post new articles in my blog.
= Peace Out!
P.S. Sorry if I commit wrong grammar, I am not good at this. So please bear with me. hehehe!!!
